Mountain Empire Airport is home to the Mountain Empire Pilots Association, a flying organization made up of pilots and aviation enthusiasts from the local community. The MEPA is a forum for like-minded individuals with an interest in aviation to come together and share the passion for flying.
One of the main drives of the MEPA is to bring an interest in aviation to the general public. The organization hosts an ANNUAL FALL FLY-IN each September, a day of family-friendly fun that includes static aircraft displays, airplane and helicopter rides, aircraft demonstrations, classic cars, food, and other activities.
