The Mountain Empire Airport is a general aviation airport centrally located between the towns of Marion and Wytheville in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwestern Virginia. The airport has a single 5252 x 75 ft. runway, with published localizer and GPS approaches and a full parallel taxiway. A recently constructed ramp extension gives ample tiedown space for aircraft of all sizes. Before or after your flight, relax in the terminal building; which features a spacious waiting lounge, flight planning area, and conference room. The airport provides full service fuel for both 100LL and Jet-A.
The Mountain Empire Airport is owned and operated by the Smyth-Wythe Airport Commission, a joint commission of representatives from Smyth and Wythe Counties. The Commission meets the fourth Tuesday of every month in the terminal conference room.
